Are you thinking about putting your home on the market this spring? One of the most important things you, as a Seller can do (after contacting Eagle Mountain Realty of course), is to stage your home.
Staging helps you make a good first impression with buyers. It emphasizes your property’s positive aspects and allows buyers to see themselves living there. However, staging isn’t as simple as you may think.
Staging is not an invitation to unleash your decorating skills. As a matter of fact, it’s the opposite. Home decor is personal. Staging isn’t. Staging a home helps it to appeal to as many buyers as possible. Here are some simple and easy tips to give your home maximum showing potential.
Add natural touches. Look at the geography surrounding your home and use natural elements that reflect that area. You may want to add plants and flowers to soften spaces and remind buyers that life grows here.
Rearrange furniture. This is a small hint that can make maximum impact. Moving furniture to open traffic flow can make a room feel bigger. It can also create conversation areas that give the space purpose.
Use lots of light. Too many times I have shown a home in which the sellers have purposely closed the drapes or blinds and left the lights off. A house that’s illuminated says, “Come on in.” Open your blinds and curtains to let in natural light and put the maximum allowable wattage in fixtures to boost illumination.
Accessorize the entryway. You only have one chance to make a good first impression. Add strategic pieces like a table lamp, artwork, mirror, etc. to create a statement that says, “Welcome Home!
